Amanda Atkinson is Managing Director of Child Development and Family Services, overseeing program operations for a portfolio of early learning programs including PHLpreK Administrative Intermediary, PHMC’s Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, Building Early Links for Learning, and ChildWare. The Child Development and Family Service programs seek to improve education, health and the mental well-being of young children, families and the early learning workforce. Prior to her tenure at PHMC, Amanda held positions in informal education program impact evaluation and business software user experience research.

Amanda has presented at a number of conferences and forums on the topics of improving quality, reducing risk and injury, and best practices for early care and education for children experiencing homelessness. She was a Sorenson Innovation Fellow at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah; a Pennsylvania Education Policy Fellow at the Institute for Educational Leadership; and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from Bryn Mawr College. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, a Master of Fine Arts in Museum Exhibition Design, and a Master of Public Health.
