Starting March 31, Mary Howard Health Center and PHMC Care Clinic, two of PHMC Health Network’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), are merging to form PHMC Health Callowhill. After more than 30 years in Center City, Mary Howard Health Center staff and patients will join PHMC Care Clinic at 1200 Callowhill Street. The transition allows us to fulfill patient needs that the current space at Mary Howard Health Center is no longer able to meet.
The expanded FQHC provides patients with integrated care, including more primary care providers, three times the number of exam rooms, increased behavioral health and podiatry services, greater space for health education group classes, access to dental and pharmacy services and improved accessibility for people with mobility disabilities in a state-of-the-art facility. Patients from Mary Howard Health Center will be able to continue scheduling appointments and receiving care from their providers.
Combining these sites is part of our larger effort to rebrand our sites under one name and logo. Many people know our individual FQHCs in their neighborhoods, but they often aren’t familiar with PHMC. Over the next several months, we’ll be rolling out new names and logos for all our sites under the new brand identity PHMC Health. Unifying our service locations under this consistent brand reaffirms our long-standing commitment to providing integrated care that addresses our patients’ needs holistically, including those of individuals experiencing homelessness.
PHMC Health provides comprehensive, accessible and patient-centered health care to communities across Philadelphia. Patients call 855.887.9229 or visit phmchealth.org to schedule appointments.
