Congratulations to Alison M. Davis, Assistant Director of the Advocacy Institute (Ai) on winning the 2025 Health and Racial Equity Partnership Award from the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI).
Alison accepted on behalf of Ai, a program of PHMC subsidiary Health Promotion Council. The award honors an NNPHI network member and a community-based organization that together have taken courageous action in addressing the impacts of structural inequities. This recognition highlights both Alison’s leadership and Ai’s mission to dismantle barriers to health through the creation of authentic youth-adult partnerships in public health advocacy.
Ai develops strategies to promote health equity by empowering marginalized youth to address public health challenges through advocacy, education and policy change. By prioritizing lived experiences and dismantling traditional hierarchies, Ai ensures that youth directly shape program initiatives, tackling issues like tobacco targeting, gun violence and food access. Through trauma-informed and community-driven approaches, Ai fosters sustainable solutions that address systemic racism and health disparities.
We’re proud to celebrate Alison and Ai for their continued work in partnership with the next generation of public health professionals to ensure access to health for all.
