ECEHigherED.com is an online portal for students, employers and institutions of higher education to share information relevant to teacher preparation that is offered throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
While there are existing sites that provide information about colleges and universities, and even others that provide information about teacher preparation programs, ECEHigherEd is unique in that it presents information about institutions of higher education through the specific lens of early childhood education (ECE). In addition, the site highlights the locally-created ECE IHE Gold Standards. These standards prioritize aspects of teacher preparation programs that are meaningful to the field of ECE.
ECEHigherED.com contains information that:
- helps adults interested in working with young children find the teacher preparation program that best meets their education and credential needs;
- gives early childhood centers an opportunity to connect with institutions of higher education by serving as a field placement site; and,
- provides students of teacher preparation programs and institutions of higher education improved access to field placement opportunities.
