A documentary film showcasing the work of PHMC’s Serenity Court has been entered into the American Institute of Architect Film Challenge Awards under the theme of “Blueprint for Better.”
The evolution, work and history of Serenity Court is depicted in this documentary capturing how architectural design influences the mission of an organization to care for vulnerable populations. Serenity Court, a part of PHMC’s Health Care for the Homeless program, offers post-acute medical care for men and women living on the streets or in an emergency shelter who are too ill or frail to recover from a physical illness, surgery or injury.
The architectural design of Serenity Court demonstrates how space can influence how we think, feel and respond in the environment. A space built to stimulate well-being will influence a patient’s behavior, thus getting desired outcomes. This philosophy is one of the key determinants on how PHMC achieves its mission of creating and sustaining healthy communities.
You can support Serenity Court by voting for the film here. Multiple votes are accepted (one per hour)—voting will be open until Sept. 27.
