Serves as Executive Director of the Health Promotion Services Division of Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) and of the PHMC subsidiary Health Promotion Council (HPC). In this capacity, they lead HPC’s work to promote health and prevent and manage chronic disease, especially among vulnerable populations, through community-based outreach, education and advocacy.
Susan brings extensive experience in population and community health in Philadelphia. They also hold prior public sector experience in health advocacy, social policy, workforce development and data collection. Their work has focused on multi-sector shared learning and collaboration to improve health care quality, address health disparities, and create healthier communities. They have developed, implemented and evaluated initiatives on a variety of topics, including but not limited to health literacy, chronic disease prevention and management, nutrition equity, opioid stewardship and community health needs assessments.
A Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality since 2014, Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Urban and Ethnic Studies from The College of New Jersey and a Master in Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Susan is an endurance athlete and has participated in dozens of races and triathlons, ranging from 5k to marathon distance, and has completed two Ironman Triathlons as an Ironman Foundation athlete.
