As President and CEO of Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), Michael Pearson oversees a workforce of more than 2,000 employees, over 200 public health programs and a network of subsidiary organizations. Since stepping into the role in 2023, Mike has prioritized expanding PHMC’s impact, enhancing operational infrastructure and championing equity-centered leadership across the organization. 

Before his current position, Mike served on the PHMC Board of Directors starting in 2011. He held several key leadership roles, including Treasurer, Vice Chair, and Board Chair, a position he held from June 2015 to June 2019. As Board Treasurer, Mike bolstered the organization’s sustainability by spearheading financial planning and budgeting initiatives to ensure PHMC’s programs and subsidiaries could effectively fulfill their missions. He was instrumental in launching PHMC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Governing Council in 2020 and the publication of *Embracing Diversity, Fostering Equity, Achieving Inclusion*, PHMC’s inaugural DEI report, in 2023. 

With over 30 years of experience as a social entrepreneur, Mike is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He advocates for programs that support underserved populations and promote economic development as vital investments in the nation’s future. Mike serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Foundation, and the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority. His past board affiliations include the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Evident Change, the Economic and Community Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and the U.S. Small Business Administration National Small Business Development Center. 

Mike’s contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including recognition as one of Philadelphia Magazine’s *150 Most Influential People* (2024), Philadelphia Business Journal’s *Veterans in Business* (2023), and induction into the Philadelphia Smart Business *Dealmakers Hall of Fame* (2022). He has also been honored with City & State PA’s *50 Over 50 Award* and the Greater Philadelphia YMCA’s *Distinguished Service Award*. 

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a combat-duty Army Officer during the Persian Gulf War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
