Laurie oversees a comprehensive continuum of programs focused on prevention, intervention, treatment and health education for individuals and families. Her portfolio includes services that support justice-involved individuals through diversion and reentry initiatives, services for individuals at risk or experiencing homelessness, community-based outreach and recovery support, and prevention education targeting high-risk populations. Through this work, Laurie ensures that PHMC’s programs address social determinants of health and promote long-term wellbeing for underserved communities.
Laurie previously served as Program Director for Interim House West and Bridges’ Step Down program, where she led substance use treatment and recovery housing services for women.
Laurie holds a Master of Social Service (M.S.S.), Master of Law and Social Policy (M.L.S.P.) and Certificates in Non-Profit Executive Leadership from Bryn Mawr School of Social Work and Social Research and the Philadelphia African American Leadership Forum (PAADLF) through the Urban League of Philadelphia. She also has a B.A. in Political Science from Temple University. Laurie is board chair, Joseph J. Peters Institute, Committee Chair for PA Reentry Council and is a member of the Penn Mental Health AIDS Research Community Advisory Board. She previously served as a board member for the Pennsylvania Prison Society and Steering Committee member for the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition.
