The Center for Autism is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1955 and is the oldest autism treatment center in the country. As a leading provider of services in the Philadelphia region today, the Center knows that each person with autism is unique and tailors its programs to the needs of each person and family. CFA was one of the first clinics in the country to exclusively treat autism, pioneering therapeutic approaches such as the use of music therapy, movement therapy and sensory integration. At CFA, each person's treatment plan is unique and focuses on communication, interaction, change and transitions, behaviors and responses, social competencies and sensory processing. Because the individual’s family is viewed as a full partner in the therapeutic process, CFA provides the family with the support, education, treatment, and resources needed to appropriately advocate for the person with autism.
