On July 1, 2010, Philadelphia Health Care Trust (the foundation) chairman Bernard J. Korman and Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) president and CEO Richard J. Cohen, PhD, announced that the two entities have entered into an agreement for an affiliation that will enable the foundation to continue and enhance its charitable mission.

The two organizations share many goals including fostering and improving the health of the community through research and education. “The affiliation will strengthen both organizations and provide an ideal vehicle for each to draw on the strengths of the other to continue and expand their services,” said Cohen.

In successfully carrying out its charitable mission, PHMC has become known for its leadership, expertise, collaboration, management capabilities and fiscal strength.  According to Korman, “Philadelphia Health Care Trust’s continuing work to develop and improve innovative and effective solutions for the protection and advancement of health care will align perfectly with the mission of PHMC.”

In terms of leadership, the initial group of newly appointed Philadelphia Health Care Trust board of directors consists of 6 members whose backgrounds span the areas of health care, law and business. This diversity provides a well-rounded, balanced group of leaders who will continue the charitable mission of the foundation. Both PHMC and the Philadelphia Health Care Trust look forward to a successful and impactful future.
