Nurturing, Educating, and Supporting Together (NEST) improves health care access for Latina women through outreach, education and navigation services. Focused on reducing disparities in breast cancer and cervical cancer diagnoses and treatment, the program empowers women with knowledge, connects them to resources and addresses barriers to care. NEST is a program of Health Promotion Council (HPC), a PHMC subsidiary.

  • Bilingual outreach to engage and inform Latina women
  • Education on breast and cervical cancer prevention and early detection
  • Support navigating health care providers and resources
  • Assistance overcoming language, financial and cultural barriers
  • Provide accompaniment and interpretation for mammogram, PAP and other medical appointments as needed
  • Connect participants to additional programs as needed

Eligibility Criteria

Any Latina born with breasts and/or a cervix

Mammography: age 40 and older (NEST also supports participants experiencing symptoms before age 40)

Cervical cancer examination and diagnosis: age 21 and older

Referral Process
