Balance provides employees with information about leading healthy lifestyles at home and at work, and has developed diverse programming that encourages employees to participate in a culture of physical and mental health.

Healthy Lifestyles Program: Offered through PHMC’s insurance provider, employees are encouraged to fill out a questionnaire to better understand their health. Depending on their health status, they can enroll in various programs to manage chronic disease, smoking cessation, fitness fee reimbursement, etc.

Wellbeing Matters: Focuses on mental and emotional health, work-life balance and leveraging successful techniques for self-empowerment and mindfulness.

Smoking Cessation Strategies: Offers a wealth of in-house and public resources to help employees quit smoking.

PHMC Walks: A walking club to promote physical activity during work hours, at any program or location.

Nutrition Counselling: Offers dietitian consultation at headquarters for employees to avail themselves of free six nutritional counseling sessions under PHMC’s health insurance benefits.

PHMC has a fitness facility onsite at 1500 Market, managed by Weston Fitness, providing state-of-the-art equipment, classes and comprehensive programming to employees at all fitness levels. PHMC Fitness offers employees new programming constantly to keep it fresh and relevant and to encourage employees to adjust their work day to accommodate fitness activities whenever possible!
