Tree-mendous Day at the Zoo, a resource fair hosted by the Philly Tree Coalition, brought together families, community partners, and nature lovers from across Philadelphia for a day of learning, creativity, and fun.
Philly Tree Coalition partners had the chance to interact with the more than 3,000 people who entered the Philadelphia Zoo on September 12. The event was a powerful example of what’s possible when a coalition comes together around a shared vision for a greener, healthier city.
Across the Zoo, families explored hands-on activities that inspired curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the tree world. Dozens of interactive activities hosted by Philly Tree Plan partners from across the city showcased the many ways trees, green spaces, and community action can help neighborhoods thrive.
In the Philly Tree Coalition’s e-newsletter, program staff shared, “Tree-Mendous Day wasn’t just a celebration of trees and nature. It was a testament to the power of a mobilized coalition. When city agencies, nonprofits, schools, community organizations, and residents work together, we can create joyful experiences, inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, and build a greener, healthier, and more connected Philadelphia for all.”
