The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Public Safety announced its 2026 grantees for the Targeted Community Investment Grant (TCIG), part of the department’s strategic Anti-Violence Community Partnership Grants program. At an event attended by Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, Chief Public Safety Director Adam Geer, grantees and PHMC staff, the grants were recognized as an important investment in the Parker Administration’s comprehensive public safety strategy, which combines law enforcement, prevention, intervention, workforce development, and community investment to address the root causes of violence.
TCIG will award a total of $25 million to over 150 organizations for initiatives that address violence prevention, expand community capacity, and target investments that create a lasting impact in Philadelphia.
This program directly funds and supports organizations that improve public safety, increase opportunities for self-development and care, and build a stronger sense of community in neighborhoods most impacted by gun violence.
PHMC staff were pleased to attend the kickoff for this first round of funding, and to show support for the grantees, all of whom are trusted voices in their neighborhoods. PHMC plays the role of an intermediary to provide operational infrastructure and back-office support that enable grantees to launch effectively and deliver critical services.
Additionally, PHMC assists the Office of Public Safety with delivering funding to implement the TCIG funding, provides technical assistance to community organizations that are awarded funding, and implements an evaluation that measures progress and impact while increasing equity, transparency and accountability.
The TCIG grantee organizations represent neighborhoods across Philadelphia and include a mix of emerging grassroots organizations and established community partners.
