Public Health Management Corporation Announces its Intention to Affiliate with
Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA – Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), a nonprofit public health institute that creates and sustains healthier communities, announced its intention to affiliate with Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia (VNA), the oldest and largest nonprofit home health, palliative and hospice provider in the region. As part of this transaction. PHMC will acquire Philadelphia Home Care (PHC), the parent company of VNA and Visiting Nurse Society (VNS), VNA’s supporting foundation. PHC, VNA and VNS will become PHMC subsidiaries pending all final legal and regulatory approvals.
Upon the acquisition, PHMC will integrate VNA into the PHMC family of programs and subsidiaries. This relationship will align VNA within PHMC’s Integrated Health Services portfolio and provide programmatic integration and referral opportunities between the organizations, including PHMC’s network of six Federally Qualified Health Centers and its medical respite programming for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Over the last year, VNA’s board of directors and executive leadership team have pursued finding the right strategic partner to support VNA’s mission and ensure organizational stability in the future.

PHMC’s organizational structure and subsidiary business model will provide financial, operational and programmatic infrastructure to support and sustain the delivery of VNA’s mission. Through this affiliation, VNA will have the opportunity to expand its programming and further serve its clients’ social determinants of health needs by providing them with a range of integrated physical, behavioral and social services available through PHMC’s network.
