PHMC was awarded funding to lead InsurePA, a first-of-its kind statewide consortium for the Community Catalyst Certified Application Counselor Initiative. This consortium's goal is to educate and assist individuals enrolling in the Marketplace or other low-cost federal and state health insurance programs.
Working in conjunction with partner agencies across Pennsylvania, PHMC, through its affiliate National Nursing Centers Consortium, will manage the project, specifically focusing on Southeastern PA and Allegheny County, the areas most in need. The one-year, $340,000 grant will assist more than 15,000 Pennsylvania consumers with education and insurance enrollment and will train 50 additional Certified Application Counselors to provide enrollment services in these communities. InsurePA is a consortium of four certified application counselor designated organizations including PHMC, Pennsylvania Health Access Network, Benefits Data Trust and Consumer Health Coalition.
