Turning Points for Children, a PHMC affiliate, is seeking foster parents in the following geographic neighborhoods: Frankford, Bridesburg, Wissinoming, Lexington Park, Penny Park, Mayfair, Holmesburg, Tacony and Northwood including zip codes 19124, 19149, 19135, and 19137.
Philadelphia has a critical need for more foster parents. There are more than 15,000 children in temporary foster care in Pennsylvania. Of that, approximately 3,045 of these children are in out-of-home care in Philadelphia each year. Turning Points for Children's mission is to support families in raising safe, healthy, educated and strong children by partnering with caregivers to develop and strengthen protective qualities, and offer families the tools, skills and resources they need to ensure their children's optimal development.
