On May 26, PBS NewsHour aired “Are Nurse Practitioners the Solution to Shortage of Primary-Care Doctors?” a report featuring nurse practitioners at PHMC’s Rising Sun Health Center. It also included commentary from Tine-Hansen Turton, vice president of Health Care Access and Policy at PHMC and CEO of the National Nursing Centers Consortium, a PHMC affiliate. The piece explored the role of nurse practitioners as primary health care providers and how nurses in Philadelphia are changing the field of healthcare.
