Red Cross Announces the Honorable Renée Cardwell Hughes as its new CEO

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross recently announced the Honorable Renée Cardwell Hughes as its new Chief Executive Officer. Judge Hughes, who was chosen after a nationwide search by SEPA Chapter of the American Red Cross and the American Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, DC, began her new position as CEO on May 16.

Judge Hughes is vice chair of the board of directors of Public Health Management Corporation, and president of the board of directors of Joseph J. Peters Institute.  Most recently, Judge Hughes served as a trial judge in the Court of Common Pleas, the First Judi­cial District of Pennsylvania which encompasses the City of Philadelphia. Although she specialized in homicides she has handled both civil and criminal proceedings, including mass torts, as­bestos litigation, products liability, and medical malpractice in addition to criminal cases involving all major felonies. Read more about Judge Hughes and her new position here.
