Abortion access and gun violence are both deep public health issues that foundationally impact personal freedoms and rights. Both issues disproportionately impact vulnerable populations, including communities of color and those suffering from poverty, housing insecurity, community violence, and lack of access to health care.
As an organization and as public health leaders, we will continue to advocate for access to comprehensive and compassionate health care and funding for science-based, trauma-informed intervention, prevention and outreach programs. We will stand up on behalf of public health in all policies, practices and actions. This philosophy is how we lead our work with funders and partners, and how we strive to create positive impact for those we serve.
