PHMC is proud of Board Member Dr. Denise Christian who was honored at Abington Hospital’s annual gala as an outstanding African American Woman in Medicine by the Dickens Auxiliary Board. The Dicken’s Auxiliary was created in honor of Dr. Helen O. Dickens, the first African American woman to be board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in Philadelphia. They honored four women, including, Dr. Christian, for their leadership and contributions to the field of medicine.

Dr. Christian serves on the PHMC Board of Directors and is the National VP for UnitedHealthcare Clinical Services.
