PHMC signed an agreement, subject to all necessary regulatory and other approvals, expressing its intent to pursue the acquisition of Wordsworth, a not-for-profit organization providing education, behavioral health, and child welfare services to children, adolescents, and families. PHMC has assumed operational oversight of Wordsworth through a management contract.

Upon a successful acquisition of Wordsworth, PHMC would integrate Wordsworth's programs, which include two Community Umbrella Agencies (CUAs), foster family care programs, behavioral health programs, and Wordsworth Academy, into PHMC's existing business to ensure the continuation of critical services to populations and communities in need.

"PHMC is committed to Wordsworth's mission to strengthen families and help children overcome emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges," said PHMC President and CEO Richard J. Cohen. "We have a strong team in place to ensure a seamless transition for staff, children and families as we align Wordsworth's services to existing PHMC programs and enrich the continuum of services for our combined organization."

PHMC has a long-standing legacy of delivering high-quality, evidence-based health, human and social services to individuals and families in the region. Since 1972, PHMC has offered financial, operational, and infrastructure stability to support the delivery of more than 350 programs and services to best serve individuals and families in the community.
