PHMC President and CEO Richard J. Cohen was honored with the Joseph Kimbrell Award at the National Network of Public Health Institutes’(NNPHI) annual conference. The award is bestowed upon an individual within the NNPHI family who has made extraordinary contributions to the network. The award honors Mr. Kimbrell’s legacy as a principal founder of the network, whose passion for and commitment to supporting multi-sector innovations to improve the public’s health serves as the cornerstone for continued network accomplishments.

Richard’s nomination for the award included a testimonial from none other than Joseph Kimbrell himself:

As the CEO of NNPHI I had the pleasure of working with Richard Cohen as a Board member and officer in the organization. Richard is an innovative and entrepreneurial public health leader who helped to broaden the vision and scope of the public health institute model. He brought his visionary leadership and business acumen to his work with NNPHI and influenced its future direction. He has also generously provided valuable consultation to member institutes. For the reasons listed above I would strongly support Richard Cohen's nomination for the Joseph Kimbrell Award.
