Fit City PHL will explore the concept of active design and examine ways to improve health by encouraging physical activity and healthy eating through design strategies.
The event is organized by Health Promotion Council, a PHMC affiliate, in partnership with PHMC, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Philadelphia Chapter.
Fit City PHL will feature a presentation from the Center for Active Design on successful strategies for promoting physical activity and healthy eating, as well as a panel discussion of local experts moderated by Richard J. Cohen, President and CEO of PHMC.
Fit City PHL will be held Wednesday, May20, from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at PHMC Headquarters, 1500 Market St., Lower Mezzanine Conference Center. Other partners include the American Institute of Architects Philadelphia Chapter and the Delaware Regional Planning COmmission, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The cost is $25 ($15 for students).
