PHILADELPHIA— Philadelphia Health Care Trust (the foundation) chairman Bernard J. Korman and Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) president and CEO Richard J. Cohen, PhD, announced today that the two entities have entered into an agreement for an affiliation that will enable the foundation to continue and enhance its charitable mission.
Effective today, PHMC becomes the sole corporate member of Philadelphia Health Care Trust, and the foundation will hereafter operate as an Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) charity with an independent board of directors, consisting of John Cacciamani, MD, MBA, chief of clinical operations and informatics, Temple University Hospital; Richard J. Cohen, PhD, president and CEO, Public Health Management Corporation; Louis W. Fryman, Esq., partner, Conrad O’Brien; Honorable Renee Cardwell Hughes, judge, Court of Common Pleas, City of Philadelphia; Ana Pujols-McKee, MD, chief medical officer, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center; and Michael K. Pearson, president, Union Packaging, LLC.
“The affiliation will strengthen both organizations and provide an ideal vehicle for each to draw on the strengths of the other to continue and expand their services,” said Cohen.
In successfully carrying out its charitable mission, PHMC has become known for its leadership, expertise, collaboration, management capabilities and fiscal strength. According to Korman, “Philadelphia Health Care Trust’s continuing work to develop and improve innovative and effective solutions for the protection and advancement of health care will align perfectly with the mission of PHMC.”
