Public Health Management Corporation Celebrates National Public Health Week

PHMC celebrates National Public Health Week with a series of community events, an attorney general candidate forum and a public health conference.

PHILADELPHIAPublic Health Management Corporation (PHMC), a nonprofit public health institute that creates and sustains healthier communities, recognizes National Public Health Week 2024, April 1-7. This year’s theme, “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health,” reinforces the idea that public health goes beyond health care; it includes our communities, environments, relationships and more.

PHMC is proud to demonstrate this year’s National Public Health Week theme through our work across hundreds of public health programs, a network of subsidiary organizations, and 70 locations serving nearly 350,000 clients annually.

PHMC is excited to share the following events happening during and around National Public Health Week.

Medical Payments & Insurance Forum
Tuesday, April 2 | 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
PHMC Public Health Campus on Cedar, 501 S 54th St, Philadelphia, PA 19143
Hosted by PHMC and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, this forum will inform attendees on how to address issues associated with health insurance coverage, medical bills and much more. Register here.

Attorney General Candidate Forum
Thursday, April 4 | 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Join PHMC and Pennsylvania Secretary of Human Services Valerie Arkoosh, MD, MPH, for an important discussion with Pennsylvania’s candidates for Attorney General as they address multiple public health crises and interconnected issues threatening the Commonwealth’s growth and sustainability. Health & Wellness Fair at the West Philadelphia YMCA

PHMC is partnering with State Representative Rick Krajewski's Office and the West Philadelphia YMCA to host a Spring Health & Wellness Fair that is open to all community members. Local vendors and community organizations will share information on resources and services they offer. Learn more here.

Rural Community and Public Health Conference
Monday, April 8 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Hosted in collaboration with Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network, a PHMC program, this event will highlight community and public health issues and initiatives for diverse and underserved populations. Register here.

County Health Rankings and Roadmaps Data Release
PHMC and the Pennsylvania Public Health Association support the dissemination of the County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, a program of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Recently released data offer insights that can help shape health care policy and improve care at the local level. This year focuses on civic health, or the opportunities people have to participate in their communities. Review the data.
