Public Health Management Corporation and Carson Valley Children’s Aid announce affiliation agreement
Carson Valley Children’s Aid to join Public Health Management Corporation as a subsidiary, pending all legal approvals

PHILADELPHIAPublic Health Management Corporation (PHMC), a nonprofit public health institute that creates and sustains healthier communities, has announced its intent to affiliate with Carson Valley Children’s Aid (CVCA), a leading provider of child welfare, behavioral health and education services to children, youth and families in communities and residential settings across Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware counties. The acquisition is subject to all legal approvals. Once final, CVCA will become a subsidiary organization within PHMC’s family of public health programs and services.

Upon the acquisition of CVCA, PHMC will integrate CVCA into the PHMC organization. This relationship will give CVCA the opportunity to expand its programming and capacity to provide individuals served with an added range of integrated physical, behavioral and social services available through PHMC’s network. With CVCA as a subsidiary, PHMC will expand its portfolio in providing child welfare, behavioral health services and education to children and families through in-home, school, community and residential settings in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware counties.

“PHMC and CVCA have been mission-aligned partners in the social services field for decades, and I’m thrilled to welcome them to PHMC’s family as a subsidiary organization,” said Richard J. Cohen, President and CEO of PHMC. “PHMC is fully committed to CVCA’s mission to deliver services to children, youth and families that ensure their safety while building on their strengths to empower them to achieve success in life. We have a strong team in place to ensure a seamless transition for staff and individuals served as we align CVCA’s services within PHMC in a way that will deepen and enrich the overall continuum of care our organizations provide.”

CVCA’s board of directors and executive leadership team pursued the agreement with PHMC to maximize long-term financial and program stability. PHMC’s focus on financial sustainability and service delivery will help to ensure a seamless integration honoring CVCA’s long history and strong reputation while focusing on staff and quality of service, with no disruption to CVCA children and families.

“Carson Valley Children’s Aid is excited to be moving forward with PHMC,” said Diane Kiddy, CEO of CVCA. “Our organizations share a collective commitment to delivering on our promise of service to our communities and in particular to vulnerable children. CVCA already serves 10,000 individuals a year, and by coming together with PHMC our reach and capacity will be even greater in offering opportunities to children and families and the staff who support and assist them.”

Since 1972, PHMC has had a legacy of delivering high-quality, evidence-based health, human and social services to individuals and families in the region. With more than 3,000 employees and a network of programs and subsidiaries, PHMC serves hundreds of thousands of individuals each year through a broad continuum of public health services. The organization’s work is grounded in science, research and data, and spans physical, behavioral and mental health care; substance use and opioid misuse treatment; health promotion and prevention services; criminal justice initiatives; workforce development and economic inclusion; and education, child welfare and family social services.
