Last month, PHMC opened a new Federally Qualified Health Center at its Public Health Campus on Cedar to provide high-quality primary care, women’s health, behavioral health, chronic disease management, and other services. Care is provided in collaboration with Penn Medicine.
This health center is the sixth in PHMC’s Health Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers. “The PHMC Public Health Campus on Cedar was founded on a guiding principle to provide community-informed, high-quality health care through an innovative and integrated public health campus. The opening of the Health Center is an exciting next step in fulfilling our promise to our West and Southwest Philadelphia neighbors,” said Richard J. Cohen, President and CEO of PHMC. “PHMC Health Center on Cedar’s doors are open to care for children, adults and families regardless of their ability to pay.”
In March 2021, the Mercy Catholic Medical Center transitioned into the PHMC Public Health Campus on Cedar in partnership with Penn Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Trinity Mid-Atlantic and the Independence Blue Cross Foundation to provide high-quality, community-informed, patient-centered services to residents in West and Southwest Philadelphia.
