In April, Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI), a PHMC affiliate received a $212,000 three year grant from The Pew Charitable Trusts, Pew Fund for Children, Youth and Families. The grant will expedite and expand the availability of high quality treatment to child and adolescent survivors of sexual abuse.JJPI is the leading provider of prevention and treatment of sexual abuse services in the Philadelphia area and the largest regional provider of evidence-based counseling for children who have been sexually abused. The Pew Fund grant will further enhance JJPI's efforts to help these traumatized children. JJPI addresses the public health issue of sexual trauma and its causes and consequences through prevention, treatment, training, research and public education.
