Philadelphia Business Journal (PBJ) named PHMC Interim President and CEO Mike Pearson as a 2023 Veterans in Business honoree. PBJ’s Veterans in Business program recognizes individuals who served in the U.S. Armed Forces before making their mark on Greater Philadelphia’s business community.

PBJ honored this year’s 16 nominees at an event on November 9. “The stories of my fellow veterans are inspiring, and I am amazed by their motivation to sacrifice in service and protection of others,” said Pearson after attending the event.

Pearson served for eight years in the United States military, including deployments to Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia where he served as a platoon leader during the Persian Gulf War. For his service, Pearson was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal and numerous other commendations. After serving in the military, he gained a variety of business experience, including more than 24 years of social entrepreneurial experience.
