The award, presented by SmartCEO, honors companies that have demonstrated a commitment to their employee populations through health and wellness programs. PHMC has continued to expand and support opportunities for employees to improve their overall health and wellbeing through PHMC Balance and PHMC Fitness programming. PHMC Balance programming provides employees nutrition counseling, a "Wellbing Series," promotion of the "Healthy Lifestyles" program by Independence Blue Cross, a walking club, and a quarterly newsletter featuring healthy stories and recipes. PHMC Fitness offers programming and classes for all employees at all fitness levels.

And recently, thanks to PHMC Balance and PHMC Fitness programming, PHMC was named a Gold-Fit Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association.
