In honor of March being National Social Work Month, PHMC recognizes and commends our social workers for the integral role they play across our programs and delivering services and quality care to our clients.
Medical and public health social workers provide psychosocial support to our patients and their families, helping them cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illness. Our social workers directly assist vulnerable populations, patients and families by connecting them to resources that address the social and environmental factors affecting individual health, as well as advocate for policies that promote the health and wellbeing of our communities.
The National Association of Social Workers has designated 2016 as the year of “Forging Solutions Out of Challenges.” PHMC recognizes that our social workers forge pathways to empowerment and advocate for social justice, particularly within the realm of public health.
